I'll take Affordable Asian food for $XX dollars, Alex. If you're looking for a sit down Asian spot with full service in Kahului that won't break the bank this place will do it. It's Chinese/Southeast Asian and then some... so it's hard to box into any one category but I appreciate the value this place offers plus the food comes out quick. In the old Dennys spot, parking is easy, nothing fancy, but it's nice to have a casual restaurant like this in town.

Absolutely delicious! The Tom yum gung soup as excellent! It wasn't the normal Tom yum that you experience from traditional Thai restaurants. It had some extra spices in there that gave it a wonderful kick. I also ordered the volcano shrimp. Beware... it's a LOT of food so either come hungry or be ready to share or take some home. To drink had water and Vietnamese iced coffee... also exquisite. The service was friendly and the food came out within reasonable time.

Popped in by myself for a quick bite to eat while Christmas shopping on a Friday night. I wanted a treat and to try out a new restaurant and saw the green sign glowing in the dark as I drove by enticing me in. The restaurant was quite empty when I arrived just after 6pm'ish which surprised me, and they seemed a little disconcerted that I was eating alone initially. However once I put my order in and started to eat they seemed to be more accepting and I had 4 different staff check in on me as they walked by, making sure I had everything I needed. So, great customer service, and I noticed the serving staff knew quite a few of their customers which is always a good sign of repeat diners. A few more customers arrived during my visit and they seemed to be larger family groups sharing plates. The restaurant is large and set up for groups and feels airy and open with large windows and booths lining the sides. I chose the Basil Shrimp, less heat that I expected as it had a chilli pepper sign beside it on the menu and the basil wasn't strong, however it was delicious with plenty of tail on shrimp and veggies, and a good dark gravy. Only white rice was available and it was fluffy and hot. I wanted to try their Tom Yum but it only came in a larger 2 person size and I couldn't order it for a single serve which is a great pity. They serve alcohol, at least I know they serve beers as a table of folks were drinking them. Unfortunately they don't offer Kamaaina rates which means I won't be returning often. My meal of rice and Basil Shrimp came to a total of $33 which is pricey. I think this restaurant deserves more customers than it had on a Friday night, but it might be because I was there at 6pm instead of 7pm.

The spot we planned to eat at (Sparky's) was closed so we found this spot and boy did it not disappoint! Some of the best sweet n sour pork we've ever had, along with the most tender Mongolian beef on the planet. We were licking our lips and planning our return before we leave Maui! Heavily recommend.

Maui Lemongrass is hands down one of the best Chinese restaurants on Maui! If you're looking for authentic, delicious flavors that go beyond the typical fast-food experience, this is the spot. We ordered the chicken chow mein, honey walnut shrimp, Peking spare ribs, and crispy roast pork, and everything was fantastic. My favorites were the honey walnut shrimp, with its perfectly balanced sweetness and crunch, and the flavorful Peking spare ribs, which were tender and packed with taste. The chicken chow mein was also good, though slightly on the greasier side. The service was warm and welcoming. Our waitress, a sweet Korean lady, truly made our experience even better--when I spoke to her in Korean, she lit up, adding a lovely personal touch. The atmosphere is relaxed and cozy, perfect for a casual yet satisfying meal. This place deserves more love and foot traffic! While they were quiet during our visit, it's clear they have a loyal takeout following. If you're on Maui and craving quality Chinese food, give Maui Lemongrass a try and support this great local gem. You won't be disappointed!

I had an incredible experience at Maui Lemongrass in Kahului! This spacious restaurant is perfect for gathering with family or friends and enjoying delicious, family-style Asian cuisine. The warm and inviting atmosphere made me feel right at home, especially after a refreshing dip in ʻĪao with childhood neighbors and friends. The soup was absolutely soul-warming, the kind of comfort food that brings people together. Surrounded by families, I couldn't help but offer to be part of the village and help with the little ones -- being an auntie is such a joy! The service was just as amazing as the food, making the whole experience feel even more special. Thank you so much for the hospitality, Maui Lemongrass. I can't wait to come back!

Was in Maui for a business trip and we came here for a quick informal lunch. Our server was very friendly and nice and the place was kept very clean. I ordered a beef and tofu. It was a little bit sweet for my taste, but I still ate every last bit. I chose it with the lo mein which is a nice option to have for the plate. The portions were large too! This is a great local place if you're craving some chinese food.

Since Chinese style roast duck is very limited and expensive on Maui we thought we would order take out from Lemongrass for my BD instead of prepping the 3-day process at home. We selected a menu assortment of: Pan fried dumplings (6) $12 Half roast duck Peking pork spare ribs $22 and Combination crispy fried noodles $27 I made steamed white rice and garlic bok choy to round it off at home since I had an HOA meeting to attend. Had my girlfriend pick up Lemongrass dinner after a busy day. We selected a few featured dishes. Potstickers were plump and seared with thicker wrappers. Pork Filling was seasoned but a little dry. Combination Chow Mein was seasoned, moist, had adequate sauce, a variety of veg and proteins. The really crispy noodles were thoughtfully separated for the Togo order. One suggestion is to provide more noodles, ours was small for the value of the dish and was probably the least expensive product. The fried and tasty Peking Ribs were "almost" boneless so beware of tiny hard bones when diving in. The sweet red sauce was a great contrast to keep the meat moist. Lastly, the chopped roast duck was pricy ($30 half) but well seasoned and rendered of excess fat. It was served with duck sauce that was a bit different than traditional Chinese duck but savory and flavorful.
